Macadam Forbes Welcomes Skip Rotticci

Get to know Skip Rotticci, who joined our team at the end of December.
Where were you born/raised?
I was born in San Francisco, California. Raised in the East Bay Area in Orinda, California, and moved to Portland in 1982.

Why commercial real estate?
I transitioned from real estate development to brokerage at the end of the “Great Recession”. At the time I had two daughters at Lakeridge High School and bound for Oregon State. I decided I would rather stay in Portland to continue in planned community and multifamily development than move to Southern California, Arizona, or forbid, Texas. I haven’t looked back since.

Before commercial real estate, what were you doing?
I spent two decades in real estate development, starting with single-tenant industrial properties in Oregon and Northern California, which morphed into Master Planned Communities, and Multifamily in Oregon, Washington, California, and Utah.

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received and from whom?
“You never go broke taking a profit. You do go broke on good deals. - My father
You make your profit in the planning phase, you lose it in execution if you don’t pay attention.

What do you like to do in your free time?
Skiing, fly fishing, sailing, and travel.
