Macadam Forbes Welcomes Cooper Collins

Get to know Cooper Collins, who joined our team in November.
Where were you born/raised?
I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. I attended the University of Oregon, where I studied Journalism Advertising.

Why commercial real estate?
The challenge and reward of putting a deal together is what intrigues and excites me about commercial real estate. I've been fortunate to have family and close friends in the industry and have always been interested in the process. A focus on multifamily allows me to specialize in a segment that I am passionate about while exploring the growing opportunities in the market for my clients.

Before commercial real estate, what were you doing?
Before Macadam Forbes, I worked as a Project Manager at Amazon, specifically a Prime brand (Prime Day, Prime Early Access Sale). Combined with my previous experience in production advertising, I have honed my ability to manage large, logistically challenging projects from conception through the finished product. In addition, these experiences have given me an appreciation for effective communication and punctuality when dealing with all principles in a project.

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received and from whom?
When discussing post-college career choices, a family friend advised me not to be afraid of "taking the dirt road." I've put that into practice by staying focused on options that could be described as more challenging or less structured than other opportunities presented.

What do you like to do in your free time?
I enjoy staying active. I'm an avid skier in the winter and enjoy running and riding my bike year-round. My enjoyment of running recently culminated in me running the Portland Marathon for the first time, which was a memorable, yet challenging experience.
