Client Success Story - Metro East Web Academy

Metro East Web Academy (MEWA) is an online public charter school approved by the Oregon Department of Education. Steady enrollment growth and an upcoming lease expiration was the catalyst to engage Macadam Forbes to explore opportunities to purchase a building and relocate their operations.

MEWA’s long-term growth projections would require approximately 20,000 square feet and would need to be within a 3 to 4-mile radius of their current location in Gresham, Oregon. Our off-market knowledge of an opportunity that would accommodate MEWA’s needs led us to reach out to the owner of East Hill Church in Gresham. Macadam Forbes had recently provided a Broker Opinion of Value for the church’s 19,878 square foot youth center in downtown Gresham. Although the property had not officially gone to market, we were able to negotiate a transaction that fulfilled both MEWA’s and East Hill Church’s requirements.

Quick identification of a potential solution and successfully closing of the transaction in a timely manner, MEWA was able to complete their renovations and occupy their new location by the end of their existing lease.
